Con el soporte de la Fundación Atabal de España, hemos podido reunir 307 jóvenes refugiadas, en situaciones de extremada pobreza, de todos los rincones del campo de refugiados de Palabek; juntos, hemos profundizado lo que significa ser niña en un campo de refugiado. Iluminados por la Palabra de Dios y el testimonio de fe, de St. María Goretti, ellas han compartido sus angustias, preocupaciones, sueños, y esperanzas.
Ciertamente, para ellas es muy difícil crecer en un campo de refugiados, pero se han comprometido en poner su granito de arena para promover y defender sus derechos: a ser felices, a la educación, al descanso y al esparcimiento, a nos ser discriminadas, a ser respetadas, a vivir su infancia, a la asistencia medica y a crecer y decidir con quien casarse. El encuentro termino con una buen plato de polenta y frijoles con carne.
Cada joven recibió un «Kit de limpieza» compuesto de: ropa interior, jabón, toallas, lociones del cuerpo, toallas sanitarias, una manta para dormir, unas sandalias y un tobo para cargar agua. Regresaron a casa bailando y muy felices. Se lo merecen! Gracias a la Fundación Atabal por tan bella oportunidad.

October 11 International Day of Girls,
With the support of the Atabal Foundation of Spain, we have been able to gather 307 young refugees, in situations of extreme poverty, from all corners of the Palabek refugee camp; Together, we have deepened what it means to be a girl in a refugee camp. Enlightened by the Word of God and the witness of faith, of St. Maria Goretti, they have shared their anguish, concerns, dreams, and hopes.
Certainly, it is very difficult for them to grow up in a refugee camp, but they have committed themselves to doing their bit to promote and defend their rights: to be happy, to education, to rest and recreation, to not be discriminated against, to be respected, to live their childhood, to medical assistance and to grow up and decide who to marry. The meeting ended with a good plate of polenta and beans with meat.
Each young person received a «Cleaning Kit» consisting of: underwear, soap, towels, body lotions, sanitary napkins, a blanket to sleep on, sandals and a slide to carry water. They returned home dancing and very happy. They deserve it! Thanks to the Atabal Foundation for such a beautiful opportunity.
